The Expedition Leadership (Online ) Course provides the theoretical underpinning of the role and actions of undertaking the role of Expedition Leader. Its purpose is to help Expedition leaders understand the tasks, attributes, actions and behaviours of the role, develop their critical appreciation of the theoretical elements and assist in laying a framework for future and wider development of the skills and learning.

Delivered online, through lessons, video, and activity, the course can be undertaken at the learner's pace, and can build progressively alongside their development of other skills and knowledge.

 James is a highly experienced and award-winning expedition leader who has over 25 years of experience in the outdoor and expedition sector. He has led expeditions across the globe to all biomes, with young people, adults, from scientists to tourists. He has also worked in expedition operations and development, as a specialist High Risk Safety advisor for expeditions, the expedition sector and for the TV and Film sector. An experienced and sought-after trainer, delivering adventure sports programmes, health & safety training, expedition skills and Leadership training. James is also a respected lecturer, an emerging academic and a soon-to-be-published researcher. He has lectured on several Outdoor Degree programmes, holds a BA in Outdoor leadership, and an MA in Outdoor Practice, studying the behaviours of expedition leaders and their development.
